My career has spanned various hospital based nursing and administrative positions. Over the years I developed passions for systems improvement, accreditation and licensure issues, clinical data collection and analysis, and clinical nursing. Because of this, I enjoy the challenge of making current systems work more effectively and efficiently by helping staff understand and incorporate accreditation requirements in these systems while focusing on improving the quality of care delivery.
I take a practical approach to improving quality and achieving JCAHO/JCI accreditation. My experiences in hospitals of all sizes, including leading academic medical centers and small private hospitals, have been great learning experiences for me and have taught me to apply my knowledge and expertise in different settings.
Working with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers has been a wonderful privilege for me for many years. I have addressed audiences of all sizes within hospitals, as well as at state and national level meetings.
